El Paso Restaurante features classic regional Mexican cuisine prepared with authentic recipes and fresh ingredients, appealing to the Uptown environs that house their three locations. The margaritas are dangerously good, surprising no one, but even better is the menu: don't bother resisting the raw bar to start off your meal, and definitely get an order of the chorizo nachos with refried beans, melted and cotija cheese, and jalapeno, to share around the table. From there, it's every man and woman for themselves, with stunning mahi mahi ceviche that will tug at some, while others will feel the gravity of the taco selections, and still some will go the house specialties route, for which they will remain blameless, with options like chuleta asada and the mind-bendingly good tampiquena, a grilled black Angus New York strip steak accompanied by an entourage of rajas poblanas, refried beans, and mole enchilada.
