Bird was and is one of Brooklyn’s first fashion destinations, leading the fashion-pack across the river since 1999. Founded by Jen Mankins, who got her start in fashion working as an assistant buyer for Barneys New York and later became the head buyer for Steven Alan, Bird embodies her love of color, prints, textures, textiles and tie dye. Jen travels for inspiration, seeking out the best fashion collections and design objects and Bird embodies her description of herself as a self-described failed-minimalist, mix-and-match is her maxim.

Bird has been voted Best Women’s Boutique in New York City by New York Magazine, Top Visionary Boutique in the United States by Lucky Magazine and has received extensive coverage in The New York Times.
