Savoy CLOSED Details

Savoy is a romantic little restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of SoHo. Housed on two floors of an 1830's Federal-style townhouse, the intimate dining rooms both have wood burning fireplaces. Downstairs is a bit more relaxed, and includes a horseshoe shaped bar and a few small tables. Upstairs offers a more intimate and serene dining room, and is where you want to be if you are in the mood for romance.

Chef Ryan Tate, formerly of Cookshop, offers a market-driven contemporary American menu, and the a la carte selections change frequently. Moreover, a small plate menu is available throughout the day and at the bar and adjacent tables. Service is friendly and effusive, and ingredients utilized throughout the menu are utterly fresh and make for delightful dishes. In all our years of dining here, we've had only one lousy experience: a nearly-raw quail and an absent waitress. So we cut our losses that night, and tried to forget about it.

TIP
If you’ve cruised down to SoHo to shop, Savoy is a perfect spot to refuel during the day. Ask for one of the three small tables by the front window and enjoy your own private Manhattan theater as the downtown human shopping tides roll by on a regular basis.
